This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the JSAI-isAI 2014 Workshops LENLS, JURISIN, and GABA which took place on November 2014, in Japan. The 26 contributions in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 57 submissionsfrom the 3 workshops (LENLS11, JURISIN2014, and GABA2014). 

LENLS (Logic and Engineering of Natural Language Semantics) is an annual international workshop on formal semantics and pragmatics and it focused on the formal and theoretical aspects of natural language. JURISIN (Juris-informatics) 2014 was the 8th event in the series, the purpose of this workshop was to discuss fundamental and practical issues for juris-informatics, bringing together experts from a variety of relevant backgrounds, including law, social science, information and intelligent technology, logic and philosophy (including the area of AI and law). GABA (Graph-based Algorithms for Big Data and its Applications) 2014 was the first workshop on graph structures including string, tree, bipartite- and di-graph for knowledge discovery in big data. The purpose of this workshop was to discuss ideas for realizing big data integration, including algorithms with theoretical / experimental results.

The desire to clarify muscle variations by means of the onto­ genesis led to a study of ontogenesis of single muscles. During observation of the embryonic pectoralis major special muscle bundles were primarily observed, which could be homologised with the sphincter colli muscle of lower Mammals. Further observation revealed that this muscle (concordantly with its phylo­ genetic development) gradually develops in the course of human ontogenesis from a small primordium to its maximal extent and becomes reduced thereafter and finally disappears, still during the embryonic period (Cihak, 1957). This study was decisive for the further development of our theme, since it demonstra­ tes, how consistently in the development of the locomotor apparatus the rule of recapitulation is asserted and how this can be employed in developmental studies of muscles.

The chapter on chemical equilibria is pertinent since many processes involve simultaneous chemical and phase equilibria. Also included are chapters on the evaluation of enthalpy and entropy changes of nonideal substances and mixtures, and on experimental methods.
This book is intended as a reference and self-study as well as a textbook either for full courses in phase equilibria or as a supplement to related courses in the chemical engineering curriculum. Practicing engineers concerned with separation technology and process design also may find the book useful.

     Morrill's most-recognized achievements are the pieces of legislation that bear his name: the Morrill land-grant college acts of 1862 and 1890. His legacy, inspired by the Jeffersonian ideal of an educated electorate, revolutionized American higher education. Prior to this legislation, colleges and universities were open primarily to affluent white men and studies were limited largely to medicine, theology, and philosophy. Morrill's land-grant acts eventually opened American higher education to the working class, women, minorities, and immigrants. Since 1862, more than 20 million people have graduated from the 104 land-grant colleges and universities spawned by his grand vision. In this long-overdue study, Cross shows the "Father of Land-Grant Colleges" to be one of America's formative nineteenth- century political figures.
